Welcome to Lemberg

  WELCOME

Lemberg: A great place to visit; an even nicer place to live.

Lemberg is a progressive little community in Saskatchewan, Canada, tucked away on Highway 22; a leisurely drive from the hustle and bustle of city life in Regina or Yorkton.

Customs, traditions and work ethic brought to the area by the early pioneers are integrated with modern technology to add to the lifestyle of our community. Originally settled by German speaking settlers, Lemberg quickly became the home to a variety of settlers and was a village July 12, 1904 and later incorporated as a town Sept 1, 1907.

Agriculture has been the mainstay of the community since the early days of Motherwell and later James Gardiner. While in the Lemberg area, be sure to visit local farms to see how technology has progressed from threshing machines to global positioning systems used by todays farmers.

There is something for every season in Lemberg.

In spring, Culture Shock provides adult drama written and produced by local residents. A must to see and/or participate in. An annual spring event hosted by the Lemberg Rink Board is the Agri Dinner. This is always guaranteed to be a hit with excellent local as well as international entertainment. The Lemberg Friendship Club Annual Show & Shine "Show Your Ride" Event in Aug.

In summer and autumn, Lemberg has much to offer from a neat campground and picnic facility for weary travelers to trails, a walking path in the R.C. church grounds and coulees that house a variety of birds and native wildlife for outdoors enthusiasts. The Lemberg area is famous as a nesting ground for waterfowl, attracting naturalists and hunters from across the province and the United States. Lemberg also has a fly in breakfast at the Air Strip which is held yearly in August.

Winter brings its own fun to Lemberg with plenty of snowmobile trails, beautiful scenery, curling, hockey, figure skating and minor hockey.

There are many unique buildings to be explored in the area. Old churches, towns and farms in this area are a haven for historians.

It boasts two-lane, five pin bowling alley, pool tables, table tennis, shuffleboard, foosball table and a fun, relaxing place to spend playing cards, setting together puzzles or having a coffee with friends socializing.

The Library in this same center makes it a convenience to get a good book to read or use the computer to get on the Internet.

Our high school shares the honor of being one of the most progressive schools in the province. Scholastic standards are very high and technology is a key ingredient in our education program.

Lemberg offers affordable housing for retirement, a First Responders group who are highly trained and committed.
